Rhodiola Rosea Project

Rhodiola Rosea is a traditional medicinal plant in Asia, Europe, and North America. The flowering herb contains compounds that are commonly used for increasing energy, endurance, strength, and mental capacity. It is also used as a so-called "adaptogen" to help the body adapt to and resist physical, chemical, and environmental stress.

Rhodiola rosea is mainly picked naturally in the world creating a low supply of this valuable herb. Carpere is working with Alberta Rhodiola Rosea Growers Organization (ARRGO), a new generation cooperative, on breeding and planting of Rhodiola Rosea. This includes connecting with successful growers to expand production.

Rhodiola Rosea Products:

  • Rhodiola Rosea Tea is believed to create an energy boost without the side effects of caffeine. The steeped tea taste slightly astringent and has a special aroma, just like the fresh-baked pastry.
  • Rhodiola Rosea Tincture is relatively high in rosavin and salidroside. It is commonly consumed by adding to water or drinks to help relieve stress, combat fatigue, help reduce symptoms of depression and improve brain function.

Flaxseed Processing Project

Flax or as it is also referred to as linseed, has been consumed for thousands of years. Canada is the largest producer of flaxseed in the world, representing about 40% of world production – 85% of Canada’s production occurs in the province of Saskatchewan.

The health benefits of flax include high levels of omega-3 fatty acids and its high fiber content. Omega-3s have been found to effectively combat many health problems including heart disease, some cancers, cognitive loss, inflammation and even depression.

Carpere is working with producers to grow annual traditional and organic flax crops to use as ingredients for a variety of consumer and animal feed products.

Flax can be broken down into the following ingredients:

  • Whole flax seeds
  • Flaxseed powder
  • Flaxseed meal
  • Flaxseed oil
